Another week bites the dust

Another week in the books. Not much happened this week except the loss of Internet for the weekend (hence the lateness of the post) and MOTHERS DAY!!!!
We are so grateful for our Mothers and all that they have done to bring us into the world and teach us right from wrong and take care of us. I and the boys are especially grateful for Jami and all that she does for us. She is such an amazing mother day in and day out. I seriously think that I would not be able to function without her companionship and love. She’s the best and I love her with all my heart. I would follow her anywhere where ever that may be, America, China or even the moon!

Jami with her Mothers Day gift

Along with the Celebration of Mothers Day and My birthday (we combined) we went to a place here in town that we get some good pizza AND a thick French Toast. Also treated ourselves to a full body massage and cupping. For my Birthday the boys and Jami spoiled me to with a movie night, Avengers: Age of Ultron and plenty of snacks!
Happy Mother/Birthday day!

Yummmm!

Setting up for Movie night!

The boys used their creativity and made me a candy gram!

So almost every night (weather permitting) there are groups of ladies all over town that get together and do like a dance/exercise routine (different for each group). Jami has been dying to try it and there is one that is right below our apartment. She decided to jump in and do it and she loved it! The gals had a good time with her and wouldn’t let her leave and now when we walk by they try and try to get her to join them and she does when she’s feeling up to it.
Jami getting down with the locals!
So in China they are not big believers in Salad. They like their fresh vegetables and all but not salad. We were talking to one of our students, her name is Tolerance, and she said she would take us to get some salad! YIPEEEEEEE!
Jami and the boys with Chaz and Tolerance getting ready to dig into some salad.

We got to the restaurant and they did not have the salad we wanted. But they had a fruit salad and that sounded delicious as well so we got that.

Looks delicious right?

A fruit salad
Fresh watermelon and cantaloupe and cherry tomatoes (it’s a fruit people) topped with smooth, white, creamy……..Miracle whip…..WHAT? Miracle whip? Ugggggg, way to ruin a fruit salad!

The 2 bigger ones could not be shipped.....next try is the small!
I have also had the great fun to work with China post to get some things shipped home in preparation for our return to the states. I don’t want to lug around 10 suitcases. That has been quite the challenge with the language barrier and all. So far out of 2 big suitcases that I have taken to ship they have unpacked the contents put them into boxes and shipped the boxes. I am still left with the suitcases. My goal is slowly being reached. I have to adjust my sights…..next I will try and ship our carry-ons and those should be okay to ship.

Thousands of kids crossing the crosswalks and jamming up traffic.

Anyway, that has been the happenings of the past week. Not much, kind of boring, but hey! WE’RE IN CHINA!!!! That is excitement enough! The weather has been pretty wet and has rained almost everyday it seems so our playing of football, soccer, ping pong and basketball have been limited. The boys are teaching the kid other games to do inside, such as the Ninja game, where they stand a circle and can only do one movement to “strike” the person next to them. The last picture is what happens to the traffic at lunch when 6,000 kids are out at the same time. Some go to the back, some go to the canteen and others head out the front as seen here.
