Birthday Bash!

The 1st week back from vacation was relatively uneventful. We did have an exciting moment here in China! We got to celebrate our 1st Birthday! Elijah turned 14...man...14....that makes me feel old. He's growing up so fast.
We took Elijah out to the Wanda Plaza (Huge popular mall) and we to dinner of his choice. We went to Tacos because it had a sign for salad and salad is hard to find here in China. Of course if you know Elijah, salad is one of his favorite or IS his favorite food.
Oh yeah! Nothing like a salad and tacos!
We then went to an Italian Gelato place and spoiled ourselves with some desert. On the way home we took our 1st Tuktuk (pronounced tuck-tuck) ride. A tuktuk is just a little 3 wheeled motorcycle type thing with a box, a tight fit.

All smiles at age 14
This is a Tuktuk (not the one we took, but gives you an idea)

Also for his birthday the School and our bosses family and staff threw him a party. It was great fun and we had some good food and company.
The boys played all night with the kids. Games ranging from Simon Says, Red Light Green Light and assorted card games. Some of the girls even did a dance routine for us.

A spread of yummy snacks

the main dish...Homemade Pizza!

Overall a great birthday spent with our new friends and from Elijah "Thanks for all the Birthday wishes from friends and family back in the states!"
