Going to Wanda plaza |
This last week we walked and walked and walked. We had heard that we needed to go to Wanda Plaza aka Wanda Mall. So we decided to walk there and back from our apartment. In all we estimate that we walked just over 8 miles in one morning. Here are the maps that we sort of followed...we went off course a little.

Returning from Wanda Plaza in a round about way |
I have said before that crossing the street is like playing frogger and here is a picture of what it looks like when crossing the street that we have to cross everyday when going to work/school. I tired for a couple of days to get a video in here but it just wouldn't upload.
This week we decided to take the chance and get our (the boys) hair cut.
On the food front this week for the most part we stuck to some places and things that we like. BUT we had heard that the "Century Egg" was something that we had to try and that it "isn't that bad."
Here is how the egg is prepared per Wikipedia-it's a Chinese cuisine ingredient made by preserving duck, chicken, or quail eggs, in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months, depending on the method of processing....
It's not that good, but hey everything deserves a try at least once.
We were invited to a Birthday party for a girl in our classes, Michelle. We went to a restaurant again and this time we decided to count how many dishes of food they brought out. They brought out 18 different dishes and 1 cake! There were only 10 of us and 5 were kids. We had a couple of new things that we tried. Fish Skin and Baby Bamboo. Both were surpassingly good. Other dishes were the Squid (it's good, I had some again), Beef Ribs, Shrimp on a stick, Fried Chicken tenders, Pork and Pork wraps and an assortment of vegetables with some Clams. Everything was good and as always we were full, full, full. The cake was really good and looked fantastic!
