Summer so far....

I figure it's about time to update with pictures and short explanations, especially since I haven't updated for so long. We are excited that Summer is in full swing here in Iowa.

We started by going out to Jami's Friends place and playing on their property, riding a Gator around, the same one that used to cart injured Iowa Hawkeye players off the field. The boys had a blast. We love the country!

I guess another good place to start the summer would be to learn more about the poisonous plants in the area, Ethan got caught researching that one......

We still aren't sure what it was or where he got it...but he's all good now.

We then took our 1st trip to Chicago, it's only 5 hours away and we met Jodi, Curt and Cara there. We hit Lego Land with them and had a great time. It was fun to see 'em.
For those that haven't been to Lego land........it's pretty sweet! Totally worth the price and lots to do. We probably could have stayed a couple more hours, but our time was running out in Chicago. We too the train from where we were staying to Downtown Chicago. Thank goodness for trains. Lets just say with a Free day at the Museum of Science and Technology (which is pretty cool), the celebration of the Blackhawks Stanley Cup victory (estimated 3 million people downtown just for that alone) and then also the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs playing a game all on the same day......traffic was no picnic.

This is us on a water taxi making our way out to the Navy Pier. It was pretty fun.

Here is Jami and the boys at Navy pier. It was a pretty happening place. We wish we would have had more time, but we will return and plan a little better.

While there we had to have a Chicago Dog from Chicago per my sis Jillyn. We really will for sure go back again and have another. I did get pictures of all of us, but thought this was the best to post.

Water Taxi to Navy Pier = $36

Chicago Dog with all the fixings = $5

Picture of a holistic nutritionist eating a Chicago Dog = PRICELESS!!

Just last night we got the opportunity to go to a bee keepers place up by Drakesville (where we used to live) and learn more about the honey making process and help do it ourselves. We had a great time and learned a lot. And of course.....of everyone there only one person got stung......Ethan. Poor little guy. At least he's not allergic to that.

Here we are with our finished product in Ethan's arms. Well you can probably guess what will be my next hobby in the next year or so. And it may not involve updating this blog anymore with how this update went. (wink, wink) And no...Jami doesn't proof read these before I put them out.
