A peek at the Up Grades....

So, I have NEVER been happy with how the house was but since I had no idea of where to start...I didn't. Then a friend of mine asked me questions, found out what I wanted, found my style and helped me execute. It was A TON of work but I LOVE IT. Here Goes...

This Is the front room. I always felt like the walls were too pink and didn't have any FLARE! We chose one of my FAVORITE paintings Jared and I had bought when were were in Europe for our pallet and inspiration.

Judith and I decided that I should paint the trim and wood work...I KNOW...gasp!!! It took Jared a while to get used to the idea, too. I think it turned out Beautifully.

And....Drum ROLL. The AFTER. We painted the walls green then washed them with the blue you'll see in the dining area and the yellow from the kitchen. When you stand in the front room and look at the kitchen you can really see the yellow...towards the dining room you see the blues...it's hard to capture in a picture. Below you'll see the arrangement of pictures and frames (to be filled SOON)...

NEXT...the dining room. We hadn't planned on painting this because it was a really pretty green BUT after we painted the front room it looked HORRIBLE!! After we painted BLUE it was amazing. The pictures in the dining area look GREAT with the new color. I still have to paint the doors so you'll have to forgive those eyesores.

Here you see it from a different view...

So the Bathroom wasn't working either...I was scared to remove the paneling...I was right to be scared. We REALLY had to patch the walls up after we removed it.

So here's the color we chose. It REALLY works (I stink at taking pictures!). In the frame we are putting vinyl lettering of "PRES. HINKLEY'S 9 B's...It'll look GREAT!

Okay, I forgot to take good BEFORE pictures of the kitchen. The cabinets were brown. Ugh..it made everything look dark...soooooo, I painted them and glazed them to make them look aged...
Ta Da!!! After re-doing the cabinets AND the trim it looks cheery. Look closely and you can see my spoon handles. I found them at an antiques store so they came "pre-aged"...

SO Here's my Magnum Opus. This mosaic took lots of time, a sore back and tiny cuts on the tips of every finger but I love the result. Sheryl (an artist friend of mine and co-author of our cookbook) gave me her "leftover" glass and I had a box of old china given to me. This is on the front of our island...

Here's a little extra...I've always wanted a triple bunk. I designed it and Jared and our buddy Ryan executed it. Didn't they do GREAT! It was for Christmas. We got the boys fun new sheets and pajamas...

Love the triple bunk! We've been wanting to make one for our girls. I am also interested to know the space between the beds... we have an 8 foot ceiling, is your 8 feet also?
