Okay~ Here's a taste of our last couple of weeks. First we celebrated Ev's 4th Birthday a week early (because his mean parents were going to be out of the country for the real day) at "The Mexican Restaurant" (I don't know the real name...not a lot of choices though) in Ottumwa. They sang to him, made him wear a sombrero AND smeared whipped cream on his face. He sunk deeper and deeper into his chair. They finally went away and he could eat his spoils.
As Many of you know, Jared served his mission (2 years) in the Dominican Republic. For our Anniversary and my 30th B-day (...and his and any other gift giving holidays:O) he surprised me with a Cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Our first port was Samana in the D.R. We had taken horses up to this point where we took a picture then we hiked all the way down to the water fall and swam. It was Awesome!! The guides climbed the waterfall and dove off. It was CRAZY!!! Do you like the rubber boots!?! We were stylin'.
Here we are after Snuba diving. No it's not a typo. Snuba is when the tank stays at the top on a floating device and there are 5 of us connected to it. It was awesome fun. It took Jared a minute or two to stop hyperventilating (along with 2 other guys) to enjoy his underwater experience. After that we were off. The water was Beautiful. Next we landed in Tortola. We went to The Baths. The water was a bit chilly for my liking but beautiful all the same. Through those rocks behind us is a trail to another part of the beach. It became so crowded. There were a couple ships there. We enjoyed it a lot though. See how fried Jared is? I am burnt too BUT you can't see it too well.
Last stop is Great Stirrups Cay. It's owned by the cruise line. We went snorkeling here. We took some under water pics. I'm excited to see how those turned out. The water was nice and clear, too. There's our ship in the background. We met some wonderful people. We were also the stars on the Newly Wed show. Through the rest of the cruise we were recognized and gave some good laughs...We had a wonderful time. Thanks to those who kept Jared's secret and helped in any way. It was wonderful and full of memories that will last forever.
Easter with the McQuivey's...Jami and Jason in the background. Left to right...Ethan, Everest, Elijah, Cailyn, and, I believe, Jenny's arm. We had a wonderful meal and wonderful company.
